Department overview:

Nomura’s Global Markets Equity Derivatives Structuring team has cross-regional coverage with a focus on designing, pricing and marketing of asset side equity derivatives - OTC notes with cash equity or index underlyings.

Team takes a data-driven approach, working closely with sales team and traders. It helps generate revenue by working with external clients, providing insights and actionable ideas to distribute to clients.

 

Key objectives critical to success:

The candidate will lead the origination for EQD business in EMEA, and work closely with Sales teams on opening new markets, expanding the EQD coverage in EMEA and originating transactions. This will also require working closely with Legal, Compliance and WCO functions from a Product Governance perspective.

The candidate must be able to leverage on her/his analytical and quantitative skills to price, model and develop EQD products. As well, the candidate must be able to work under pressure to price and execute trades.

The candidate would have ability to contribute to the development of the EQD platform by working closely with all other functions (Trading, Sales) to deliver structured investment products and solutions for our clients.

We are looking for a pro-active, independent person with multi-year product and pricing experience in Equity derivatives. Ideally with exposure to Financial Institutions and Asset side business. Given the seniority of the role and the opportunity to lead within the EQD business, the candidate needs to be a self-starter with ability to drive people and businesses.

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Essential

  • Energetic individual with strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and learn new concepts quickly   

  • Proven track record structuring and trading equity derivatives, including pricing, modelling and dealing Vanillas, Exotics and path dependent pay-outs   

  • In depth understanding of key market players and dynamics within the equity business. 

  • Experience in both equity Asset side and clients including Distributors, Banks, institutional clients.

  • Ability to lead junior team members towards common goals and business targets

  • Clear communication tailored to a broad range of senior stakeholders and ability to manage different (at times) conflicting objectives
