Department overview:
The firm is searching for top-level talent to fill the role of business analyst in Equity Derivatives IT. The team is a five people team located globally at multiple locations. The position will cover Global clients with focus on EMEA region. The position involves working closely with the global/regional Business Analysis, Project Management, Development, Testing and Support teams across multiple locations delivering front office solutions. Candidate needs to have strong problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in the equity derivatives business. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with a drive for success and a discipline to meet tight deadlines under pressure.

 

Role description:

  • Gather business requirements by working closely with various business users - trading, operations, finance, risk & back-office technology.
  • Documenting requirements and working with development team for implementation.
  • Coordinating System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.
  • Develop project plans and track progress including updates to management and stakeholders. 
  • Co-ordinate project meetings and report on status across the work streams.
  • Mitigate risks and escalate issues to management and stakeholders.

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
 

Mandatory

  • Degree holder or above, with several years of relevant working experience. 
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Experience with business analyst functions – gathering requirements and documenting them, coordinating User Acceptance Testing, interacting with different business units.
  • Ability to examine project needs, business needs, and provide improvements on them.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to perform detailed gap analysis on multiple systems.
  • Experience with financial products across various asset classes. 
  • Experience within the IT Project Life Cycle as well as expert knowledge of Agile project management principles and practices.
  • Strong presentation skills, an excellent understanding of Project Management concepts and an ability to champion and challenge these processes.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers, peer groups and functions outside direct control, excel in a structured but complex working environment and possess clear presentation skills to delivery programme status providing transparency to sponsors and stakeholders.

 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Derivative products will be an advantage.
  • Skilled in using MS-Office tools – Excel, Work, Visio and Project.
  • Database knowledge and general SQL ability.
  • Understanding of cloud computing and infrastructure. 
  • Development experience in any programming language will be nice to have.
