Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. Desk overview:
Nordic Global Markets Sales addresses mainly Financial Institutions in the Nordics. Focus in on the strategic asset and liability management, investment and capital management issues of those institutions and delivers tailor-made solutions leveraging the full range of derivatives and structured products available in the fixed income universe, such as interest rate derivatives and inflation derivatives, hybrids and alternative investment solutions.
The Nordic Global Markets Sales Group is a driving force in revenues for Global Markets. It increasingly operates in conjunction with the investment banking division to maximise the impact of the solutions it develops.
Key objectives critical to success:
This is a multi-product salesforce that designs tailor-made solutions to client issues, predominantly centred on derivative product applications. As a VP/ED you will be expected to be a self-starter with a deep knowledge of Fixed Income and Rates. You’re expected to have some level of established client relationships in the Nordic region. You’re also part of a team which already has one associate and one VP. You will be expected to participate in tasks such as account analysis, client mapping, production of market reports and assisting in client presentation work.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Solid experience in a similar institution.
- An economics, mathematics or financial background may be useful. Key skills which would allow a candidate to succeed on the desk include:
