Overview:
The Electronic and Algorithmic Trading (EAT) Risk Management teams sit within the Market Risk function and is responsible for developing and operating the Global EAT Risk Framework. The Global EAT Risk Framework is designed to monitor risk (Financial and Non-Financial) arising from EAT Activity.
Role Description:
The Asia EAT Product Lead will be responsible for overseeing the Asia Global Markets Business (across Nomura and Instinet); and for ensuring that the EAT Risk Management Framework is applied consistently.
The role will face off to Regional Trading Senior Management as well the Regional Leads across Technology, Compliance and more broadly within Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
- Approval of new (and material changes to) Trading Strategies.
- Approval of automated control reviews and associated limits.
- Review and analysis of relevant EAT incidents and events and facilitating cross functional reviews.
- Contribute to the continued development of the EAT Risk Framework, contributing as required by the Global governance team to the development of Policies and Procedures, running of Risk Committees and production of Management Information.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in risk management function with a focus on electronic trading within an investment bank.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic trading systems and algorithmic trading strategies (e.g. smart order routing, darkpools, DMA).
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, in particular equities and futures & options.
- Working knowledge of electronic trading regulations in Asia as well as MiFID II and PRA.
- Strong inter-personal and verbal communication skills. Should be at ease in communicating with internal and external stakeholders within risk management and other divisions.
- Strong organization and time management skills. Should be able to work under time pressure.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- A Degree from an accredited University.
