The Global Talent team is responsible for all aspects of talent management, performance management and learning & development for Nomura.

 

Role description:

Core responsibilities include supporting the end-to-end Talent (L&D, Talent Management & Performance Management) strategy and execution for the Corporate divisions across the Asia excluding Japan (AEJ) region. This role works in close collaboration with the Global Corporate Talent Team, the Global Corporate HRBPs and reports to the Global Head of Talent for Corporate with a secondary reporting line into the Regional Head of Talent for AEJ.

 

  • Design & drive the Talent strategy for designated Corporate Divisions across AEJ, in-line with Nomura’s HR transformation efforts and our Global Talent priorities
  • Ensure the talent strategy supports the overall business strategy and regional requirements
  • Oversee talent management processes for the AEJ Corporate Functions, including 9Box talent discussions, succession planning and development planning for senior leaders and identified key talent
  • Oversee performance management for the AEJ Corporate Functions in partnership with the Performance Management Practice Area, including mid-year discussions, 360 exercises, advancement and year end processes
  • Develop a learning & development plan for the corporate divisions in AEJ, leveraging open curriculum offerings and bespoke L&D programs for specific division needs
  • Coordinate with divisional and regional Talent Partners to design and deliver programs and align processes globally across corporate divisions
  • As a member of the AEJ Regional Talent Team, lead efforts in region to support on-going talent and learning exercises including but not inclusive of facilitating, managing and leading learning efforts across the region

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7-10 years of experience in L&D and Talent/Performance Management
  • Master’s Degree in related field preferred but not required
  • Experience with Corporate Divisions relative to Talent & Development requirements and programs
  • Strong project and program management skills, in line with client expectations and costs
  • Persistent and agile self-starter who thrives on collaboration, partnership, and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to create strategies, milestones, and metrics
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills including turning details into insights and actions that are relatable to the client groups
  • Results-oriented and "hands-on" approach
  • Must be an independent thinker, possess strong organization skills, strong customer focus and orientation
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experienced in managing third party supplier relationships
  • A track record in designing, developing and evaluating high impact development solutions
