Business Overview:
The AEJ Structuring team is based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea, and delivers bespoke solutions to clients’ hedging / investment requirements across all asset classes - Foreign Exchange, Rates, Hybrids, Credit and Equity. The team engages in end-to-end deal modelling that involves pricing of structured payoffs, suggesting and marketing trade ideas to sales/clients and prepare relevant documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to provide innovative solutions to different categories of clients, along with the key target of generating revenue for the firm by leading transactions through full product life cycle, including:
- Primarily drive Structured FX business for Greater China, while helping the team with broader Asia ex-Japan Structured FX deals
- Deal execution, post-deal servicing and risk monitoring
- Innovation / Idea generation: Generate new thematic / payoff based / trading axe based ideas
- Marketing: Explaining your idea or product to clients
- Pricing: Using financial models to decide valuation of the underlying security / derivative
- Risk assessment: Understand whether the product is suitable for the client and also whether the trading desk would be able to risk manage the product
- Documentation: Liaison with legal for respective contractual agreements
- Pre-trade approvals: Comply with relevant policies and seek approval from relevant stakeholders
- Collaborate with teams within Global Markets and also across divisions
Job Requirements:
The role will require you to (a) lead certain transactions and also (b) provide support to senior colleagues, specifically to:
- In liaison with Trading, Research, Quants and Legal teams globally, deliver structured products to regional cross-asset Sales teams (Greater China focus across corporate, financial institution and fund clients) and/or FX & EM Product Sales team (with focus on Real Money / Fast Money clients)
- Generate thematic product ideas on a regular basis, and assist day-to-day sales-client interactions
- Price FX/Rates structured products and derivatives
- Facilitate marketing by generating pitch books and other client-centric materials
- Support trade execution, including hedging, documentation preparation and bookings
Desirable skills:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Structuring or Solutions or Derivative Sales teams.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Structured FX/Rates products
- Minimum 4 years of experience of working with Greater China clients
- Minimum qualification would be a quantitative degree in either of Economics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, from an accredited education institution or similar
- Experience with Python, Matlab, VBA tools, data manipulation and data analysis
- Mandatory: Fluency in Mandarin, English ; Desired / Strongly Preferred: Fluent spoken & written Mandarin (client interaction capability)
- A self-motivated and quick learner in the latest development in global financial markets
- A strong commercial mentality, willingness to learn and an good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines
