Role Overview:
AEJ Delta One (D1) Middle Office works closely with the AEJ D1, Prime Finance & Principal Trading Desks providing support and maintaining controls in all post trade execution events. The candidate will act as the face-off between the trading desk and other departments as well as drive strategic change, identify and remediate control risks, perform end-to-end flow analysis/process re-engineering, partner with technology to manage system enhancements, and comply with audit and regulatory requirements.
Role Description:
- Lead the AEJ D1 MO team and develop comprehensive strategies for front to back trade flows, Risk management, and P&L optimization
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders across Front Office and Global Middle Office, managing critical relationships and strategic initiatives
- Establish and maintain senior-level relationships across Trading, Operations, Compliance, Audit, Risk, Technology and Finance
- Design and implement enhanced control frameworks for position and trade management within D1
- Provide strategic oversight and processing of complex trading activities involving structured products, ETF creation/redemption, and PNote issuance
- Develop and execute strategic plans for lifecycle event management
- Lead the development and enhancement of regulatory reporting frameworks across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. SEBI, FSS, SFC, MAS).
- Spearhead new business requirements and process transformation initiatives
- Design and implement automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency – with a focus on driving innovation through the use of technology.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to onshore and offshore teams, implementing/maintaining robust oversight mechanisms and KRI/KPI frameworks
- Define and execute the strategic control agenda, implementing preventive measures and enhancing risk management frameworks
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
- 8+ years' experience in financial markets with significant exposure to trade support / desk assistant roles.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams, including previous management experience with responsibility for personnel development and career advancement.
- Strong experience in supporting a derivatives business and knowledge of equity products (e.g. Listed FnO, Stock/ETF, Swaps, OTC Options, Pnote, ELN, Fx products etc.)
- Knowledge of APAC markets. Understanding of regulatory, compliance, settlement and tax rules.
- Strong track record of successful project delivery and process transformation initiatives
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at senior levels. Strong oral and communication skills in English
- Strategic thinking capability with proven ability to identify and implement efficiency/control improvements
- Possesses strong analytical skills and an ability to quickly learn new products and systems; needs to be able to thrive in a constantly changing environment
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly with Excel. Competency with VBA/Python/AI is highly valued
- Degree in Finance, or related field preferred
