Role Description
The Equity Finance Sales Trader will execute equity finance trades, including securities borrowing and lending transactions, with a focus on maximizing profitability whilst minimizing risk, build and maintain relationships with clients, and providing market insights to drive business growth.
Other responsibilities include:
- Provide Securities Borrowing Lending/Stock loan services to hedge fund clients and sourcing of supply from lenders and asset managers.
- Work closely alongside Dela One and Market Access teams to optimize inventory.
- Grow China inventory footprint alongside various stakeholders including sales, trading and management.
- Develop and maintain sales relationship with clients and other trading counterparties.
- Keep clients abreast of market colour, changes in market microstructure, and regulatory landscape to comply at all times to the rules and regulations set by the regulatory bodies relevant to the stockbroking industry.
- Collaborate with other GM stakeholders to augment client revenues across the franchise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equity finance trading, with a strong emphasis on securities borrowing lending or stock loan services.
- Proficient in Python scripting.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills to interpret market data and trends effectively.
- Proficient in trading platforms and financial analysis tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to securities lending and trading.
- Very strong command of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-starter, proactive and have a positive attitude, able to work independently and coordinate with key stakeholders within the firm.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, and under pressure.
- Able to work long hours during crunch time / pre-events.
