Finance Asia ex-Japan provides support to the Sales & Trading Front Office and ensures that business activities are carried out in an efficient, controlled, risk-free and timely manner. The Asia ex-Japan region has over 150 people based in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.
Working in a compact team within the Middle Office supporting the APAC Synthetic Prime Brokerage (SPB) business with cross over with the Delta 1 desk. The team’s core product scope will be OTC swaps, but the candidate will also be expected to have knowledge of the derivatives underlying hedge which typically will be cash equities, futures or convertible bonds across the APAC markets.
Role description:
- Support the trade capture and life cycle management of trading activity pertaining to the SPB business, this will be inclusive of supporting the equity hedge pre-matching and settlement as part of the overall synthetic product package
- Onboard clients from test to launch regarding the matching of trades using the automated Traiana platform
- Oversee the day-to-day BAU to ensure all tasks across the team are completed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to promptly resolve any breaks or discrepancies ensuring timely resolution and meeting daily deliverables.
- Involve in formulation of operation procedures and workflow to maintain high accuracy in works with respect to SPB related duties. Ensure that all onshore tasks have procedure documents in place and have been signed off by the teams VP.
- Undertake ad hoc assignments and projects as required.
- Undertake Regulatory Reporting such as SEBI report, Korea FSS Short Sell report, HK SFC report and MAS report.
- Assist in projects for new business, system enhancement or process improvement, working with Front Office, IT and other various teams.
- Able to suggest, drive and implement improvements to the teams functions keeping a risk and control mindset.
- Ensure adherence to operational standards and document any exceptions processes that may arise.
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
- Minimum of three to five years relevant working experiences in the Prime Brokerage area with financial institutions
- Previous experience with cash equities products is preferred
- Excellent communication skill in English
- Strong business sense and control mindset
- Willing to drive and participate in projects as assigned
- Corporate actions knowledge
- VBA knowledge
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as a team
- Multi-tasking skill in handling urgent and ad hoc requests
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to speak to people directly outside of email in order to get desired outcomes
- Strong risk awareness and ability to escalate in a timely manner.
