Nomura's IT department provides technology solutions to support the company's business activities. The Alpha platform at Nomura is a set of pre-trade / post-trade applications used globally by the Equity Derivatives Front Office for price discovery, quoting, parameter management, market analysis and post trade life cycle management. The Alpha Development Team is primarily responsible for building & supporting the Alpha platform. We take the highly regarded Quant library and deploy it in a large-scale distributed environment to solve our mass-quoting requirements and provide in-depth analysis and market insight. We are a small, high-performing team and operate in a fast-paced environment, sitting directly on the trading desk. 


Role description:
We are looking for a dynamic full-stack software developer to join our team to help us cope with the growing business demand. Working alongside trading, sales and various other corporate function teams, the candidate will work on the Alpha platform and build innovative tools that provide competitive advantage and generate revenue.
Main responsibilities of the role:
•    Gather requirements from end users and document detailed specifications for any enhancements or new development
•    Propose solutions, develop, test and release project to end users, taking full ownership of the entire software development lifecycle
•    Provide day to day support for applications owned by the team
•    Coordinate with different teams to ensure full project delivery with highest quality, teams including sales groups, trading desks, quant, sales support, legal, production support,  infra, cloud operations, etc


Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
•    Numerate degree holder or above
•    Strong Web development skills with React
•    Experience with C# .NET or any object oriented programming langue
•    Having strong interst in derivatives and structured products
•    A good team player, fast learner, able to multi-task and work under pressure

Optional Requirements
•    Familiar with SQL database schema, index and stored procedures
•    Knowledge with non-SQL database, MongoDB, Redis, etc
•    Python 3: Scripting, pandas/numpy, backtesting
•    KDB+: Big Data querying, functional programming in Q, system maintenance
•    VBA/Excel: Experience with migrating legacy spreadsheets into C#, debugging VBA
•    Basic understanding of flow derivatives or structured product
