We are seeking to add an Associate level High Touch Sales Trader covering Korean and HK/China markets for our Hong Kong office. You will be responsible for covering a portfolio of key clients and for actively engaging with cross-functional partners to drive trading activity together.
Key Responsibilities
- Junior sales trader to cover Korean equities out of HK desk. Cover clients, execute orders, provide Korea market/stock content.
- Monitor market liquidity, execution quality, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with trading regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as sales teams, research analysts, and operations to ensure seamless trade execution and client satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage risks associated with trading activities, ensuring adherence to risk management guidelines and compliance regulations.
- Build knowledge base across investment products, including equities, fixed income instruments, options, derivatives, and other financial instruments traded in Hong Kong and China markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a sales trader or client facing role covering institutional clients, alternatively relevant experience in finance with basic understanding of the sell-side trading model.
- Korean and English is a must and ideally Mandarin language as there will be support required for the HK/China desk.
- Operate well under high pressure. Strong, verifiable track record of desire to learn and add value to clients as well as internal stakeholders.
- Experience in client/account management to effectively handle a portfolio of key clients which includes executing trades, discussing trading strategies, providing research and monitoring client portfolios.
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and trading strategies specific to North Asian markets including Korean or HK/China equity markets would be desirable.
- Familiar with OMS/EMS, FIX protocol, and trading protocols would be a plus
- Good organization and time management skills with ability to act under pressure.
