Role description
The Associate will help the senior members in the team with origination and execution of Equity Solutions (including Equity-Linked) transactions in the Asia Pacific ex-Japan region for key client types, such as private equity funds, corporates, major shareholders and family offices, both using direct relationships within the team and utilizing the broader network of origination/sales channels within Nomura
Role will cover Equity Derivatives and Equity Financing against investments in listed and/or unlisted companies whether on an individual basis or as a basket, as well as originating convertible bonds and exchangeable bond issuance from corporate clients
Other duties include:
• Manage multiple projects across different stages under senior leadership, maintain a real-time overview of the project pipeline
• Produce presentation materials for client pitches across various Equity Solutions structures, and for other internal / external marketing
• Handle portfolio reviews and reporting for regional portfolios, oversee junior analyst’s work and coordinate with various teams to monitor performance
• Lead and manage internal and external conversations to expedite deal progression, by collaborating with various internal functions including Trading, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Finance and Legal
• Establish and maintain relationship with clients, sales / bankers to drive business development initiatives. Foster ideation through consistent engagement, proactive communication, and thorough analysis of market trends
• Cultivate client relationships through comprehensive engagement, encompassing implementation support, seamless onboarding processes, and tailored training initiatives
Requirements
• Minimum a Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited university
• 3+ years’ experience in equities, financing or derivatives business in a financial institution
• Demonstrated proficiency in Sales or Structuring roles, with the ability to advise both internal and external audiences on solutions tailored to specific objectives
• Proficiency in creating presentation materials & pitchbooks within financial markets
• Strong collaboration skills in a team environment; Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently; Highly self-motivated, curious, with good energy; Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
• Fluent English, Mandarin capability is a plus but not a must
