Role Description
The Associate Business Risk Analyst will support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks associated with our International Wealth Management services. Working under the guidance of senior risk management professionals, the Associate will assist in maintaining and executing the Control Framework to ensure front office activities operate within regulatory requirements and internal operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring business control functions to ensure efficient operations
- Support continuous assurance reviews on key Front Office activities under supervision
- Assist in preparing reporting materials including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for monthly Control Forum meetings and monthly Scorecard compilation
- Support investigations of Operational Loss Events ("ORE") by gathering data, documenting findings, and assisting in root cause analysis
- Participate in procedure refresh initiatives by collecting feedback from stakeholders and documenting process improvements
- Support risk awareness initiatives and provide basic risk-related guidance to Business Units under supervision
- Assist with risk or conduct related review work as assigned
- Support training coordination for new hires and assist in delivering training materials to sales staff
- Collaborate effectively with other support functions, including Business Management, Operations, Compliance, Legal and Operational Risk Management
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders regarding control effectiveness and provide administrative support to Management
Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Finance or Business
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience in risk management, compliance, or related function in financial services (Private Banking or Wealth Management experience preferred)
- Experience in investment products, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks
- Fluency in English and ability to read and communicate in Chinese/Putonghua preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn risk management software and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness
- Professional certifications (FRM, PRM, CFA, etc.) are advantageous but not required
