Sales Trading - Role Description
The Sales and Trading position will be working with a team in Toronto to cover our institutional client base trading into Canada or Canadian clients trading into US. Candidates will work closely with other coverage teams, product and quantitative groups, and technology teams to provide live trading coverage and analytics review and trading strategy discussions with clients.
- Work as a producer on the Canadian Institutional Sales & Trading team, serving as a Subject Matter Expert on our Trading platform
- Work closely with the rest of trading team, as well as other coverage teams to provide exemplary service to clients and look for cross selling opportunities
- Work closely with quantitative team to stay in front of clients on performance discussions and look for improvements to the trading platform.
- Stay up to date on market structure changes and how our trading platform will handle those changes and present to clients.
- Assists in client reporting, trade reconciliation and technology troubleshooting
- Liaise with various internal groups (technology, middle office, support, back office) in resolving technical and settlement issues
- Ensure products and/or services are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time
- Develop functions and activities for Canadian Algo performance, which requires collaboration of functions that include global counterparties and clients
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university
- 5-10 years of experience in an Sales & Trading coverage role. Existing client relationships a plus
- Strong understanding of TCA review and trading strategy customization
- Familiar with market structure and relevant discussions on topic
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills (coding skills are a plus)
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Canadian regulatory Registrations (CSC, CPH, Traders Training) required. CFA, PDO or US licensing courses would be nice to have
- Experience with Bloomberg
- Superior problem solving, analytical, judgement and change implementation capabilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for contacts with all clients and internal management groups
- Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities
- Organized, detail-oriented individual with highly developed analytical skills
