Role Description

The HK/China High Touch Sales Trader will be responsible covering a portfolio of key clients, and actively engaging with cross-functional partners to drive trading activity together. You will be required to manage and execute cash equities trades for buy side institutions and identify opportunities for trades and business development opportunities.

This position requires a deep understanding of execution strategies algorithmic trading, and a strong network in the Hong Kong and China markets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including hedge funds, asset managers, and other financial institutions.
  • Monitor market trends, economic indicators, restrictions, and regulatory developments affecting the Hong Kong and China equity markets.
  • Oversee the execution of trades, ensuring adherence to the best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze real-time market information to make effective trading decisions and keep clients informed of developments.
  • Develop & maintain good relationships with internal counterparts.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University
  • Up to of 7 years' experience in Institutional Sales Trading covering Hong Kong and China markets.
  • Product knowledge of cash equities and swaps. Strong understanding of execution and algos.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and trading strategies specific to Hong Kong & China equity markets.
  • Strong relationships and experience executing trades for HFs and global asset managers.
  • Familiar with OMS/EMS, FIX protocol, and trading protocols.
  • Excellent verbal, written and relationship management skills, good inter-personal, strong verbal communication skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
  • Good organization and time management skills. Ability to multitask and work under time pressure.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese a plus.
