Department Overview
Instinet’s Program Trading product forms part of the group’s Execution Services. Program Trading has a dedicated team of traders spanning London, New York, HK and Singapore who collectively provide clients 24/6 round the clock coverage. Execution Services operate a closely integrated model enabling us to work with clients to achieve their execution goals and source liquidity by leveraging the group’s expertise and capabilities globally.
Role Description
Reporting to a Senior Program Trader in Hong Kong, the Program Sales Trader will assist in the execution of cash equity agency programs orders spanning Asia Pacific markets and instruct traders in other regions on how to trade portfolio components in EMEA and Americas equities.
Other Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute cash equity agency Program Trading orders across Asia Pacific markets
- Ensure good and timely trade executions to meet client benchmarks.
- Acquire and maintain a sound knowledge of Asian equity market rules, restrictions and micro-structure.
- Analyse real-time market information to make effective trading decisions and keep clients informed of developments.
- Develop & maintain good relationships with internal counterparts and clients.
- Monitor market conditions and trading performance to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and technological advancements in trading.
- Prepare reports and presentations on trading performance and strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ working experience, ideally in trading or related function.
- Strong quantitative knowledge and desire to understand in detail of the equity markets and Alternative Liquidity Pools in Asia.
- Ability to self-organise and structure workflow to maximise individual capacity to execute equity trades.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Effective spoken and written English (Bi-lingual or tri-lingual desirable)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a keen interest in financial markets.
